This is a gouache painting. I've been using gouache a bit more lately because I find it works better on the paper I'm sort of stuck with for now...a sort of cheap, rough watercolor paper that tears up with too much water XD Anyway, this is a character of mine from an older story-idea thing...it's been a while, but I'm pretty sure his name is Tim :D

gorgeous, I absolutly love it. Nice pose and nice body. Red hair looks good on him.

Nice picture. It looks like he is thinking about something on the ground that has coaught his attention.

Oh, and about tearing the paper, try to let the paper dry more before adding more paint. Cheaper paper had the tendency to be 'less forgiving.' :D
